Job Search Tip #5: Top 5 on your job search front burner

Look for a career opportunity, not a job. When the financial wolf is at your door, that’s easier said than done. But, think long term. Everything you put on your resume’ can open future doors or close them.

You won’t perform to the best of your ability if you take a job just to have a paycheck. You won’t be able to showcase all your talent either, so you’ve limited your promotional upside. Remember: Dead-end jobs only lead to dead end careers.

Your interview is your opportunity to find out if the job fits you and what it would be like to work for the company. Do research on the firm and ask good questions to get your interviewers talking about how work gets done and learning opportunities.
