Acted in team initiative to lower incoming DPM for plastics commodities from an average of 20,000 dpm to less than 4,000 dpm in four years, across all suppliers and all parts.  Qualified three new suppliers through use of quality systems assessments, process assessments and corrective action monitoring.  Attained lowest recorded DPM figures for the year accomplished through constant contact, review and follow up of corrective and preventive actions.  Reviewed and followed up on six sigma activities of suppliers.  Developed and initiated use of supplier DPM reporting spreadsheet in all four production facilities in the Americas region.

Decibel Products, Inc., Dallas, Texas, Production Supervisor, 1991-1992. Initiated statistical process controls (SPC) to reduce test failures 87%.  Established order history and tracking system to eliminate shortages and duplicate orders of production supplies and control waste.

 

Motorola, Inc., Fort Worth, Texas, Technical Supervisor, Electronics Technician, 1983-1991.  Rewrote and qualified four manual test plans to eliminate 55% cycle time; decreased from 3.75 minutes to 1.7 minutes.  Reduced overall cycle time in board test 45%.  Led problem-solving team, reducing WIP 70% and cycle time 50% within board test department.  Coordinated introduction of defect reporting system into front end of factory.  Led defect reduction team, which decreased wave-solder defects from 6,000 ppm to 200 ppm, a reduction of 97% in a Six Sigma initiative.
