Division Quality Systems Leader                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

·   Designed and Implemented new Consolidated Quality Systems organization for NOVA Chemicals to support $1.5 billion Styrenics business. Operations included 8 North American and 4 European Manufacturing Sites enabling > $30 million in synergies.

·   Initiated and implemented standardization of Styrenics testing methodology to ASTM standards.  This allowed product consolidation and resolved issues with test result issues between plant and customer laboratories leading to increased productivity across all manufacturing sites.

·   Designed, developed and implemented a World Wide Customer Complaint process and computer system to provide over $250,000 reduction in customer claims per year.

·   Facilitated and issued a World Wide Quality Policy for the NOVA Chemicals company with standardized graphics and 5 languages creating uniformity of Quality perspective  across the company.

·   Directed training materials for a base SAP ERP implementation for Huntsman Chemicals and trained Huntsman facilities with base SAP skills to support the implementation of SAP at all manufacturing sites providing increased productivity through implementation.

·   Provided Business side leadership for developing programs for use of SAP QM module and SAP CRM system resulting in approval and base system design data for project implementation.

·   Drove initial ISO 9000 certification for 8 North American and 2 European sites. This resulted in successful first audit registrations for all sites and no major findings at all sites over a 12 year span of systems operation.  This performance greatly satisfied Customer requirements and reduced overall cost by reducing quality failures.

·   Directed the training and use TQM principles, SPC application, DOE projects and laboratory testing methodologies for improved productivity and customer satisfaction.  Certified in 6 Sigma as Top Gun and assured the Lean Sigma training of Quality professionals across manufacturing sites to support Quality improvement and cost reduction projects generating over $10 million in annual savings.

·   Designed, supervised construction, staffed, trained, commissioned and operated technical support and quality organization of 5 professionals and 40 lab technicians for a $750 million manufacturing complex.  Results were delivered on time, on quality, with no injuries and under budget to maximize returns for this highly profitable capital project.

·   Implemented key Technology laboratory projects totaling over $500,000 resulting in greater than $1 million savings per year in reduced cost and increased prime yield.

·   Recognized as GE Plastics Technologist of the Year for design, development and implementation of Laboratory Information system which improved quality and testing data reporting while reducing system expenses by $450,000 per year from a $50,000 project.

·   Effective leadership and direction of plant laboratory and plant troubleshooting efforts resulting in ability to operate older production lines reliably and with addition of 90 million pounds of capacity with minimal capital investment.

·   Member of team leading program to instill Quality Tools for "Work Out" program for GE Plastics with materials development and delivery to all organizations in the Division from Vice President cascading down to operations and functional personnel resulting in over $100 million in savings across the division.
