Professional Experience

Lockheed Martin, Fort Worth, TX                                                                        2005-Present

Senior Staff Systems Engineer in Requirements and Verification

Took contract statement and derived detailed technical design requirements and allocated them to lower tier subsystems for the definition of the Air Vehicle design:

¨         Developed and managed design functional analyses to ensure customer design expectations were met or exceeded.

¨         Developed measurable engineering processes and success criteria for design closure and refined a department-wide process with standardized templates for verification storyboards used by more than 20 other engineers reducing engineering overtime.

¨         Wrote and briefed Data Analysis Plans on Aero Performance and Flying Qualities to create a viable path to design verification, contract closure and sell-off.

¨         Facilitated over 60 customer reviews of design verification by building consensus for terminal verification methods for contract closure and air vehicle requirements sell-off.

¨         Developed detailed test allocation matrices to define verification tests, allocate simulation time, reduce the total number of costly flight tests, and map a path to system design contract closure.

¨         Enhanced traceability by daily use of DOORS to contribute to a single verification, test and evaluation database.

Lockheed Martin Systems Integration, Owego, NY                                  2003-2005

Proposal Manager and Logistics Project Engineer

Integrated Logistics Support lead for the H-60 Performance Based Logistics (PBL) Phase II Contract-a $10 million contract awarded to LMSI-Owego.

¨         Primary logistics lead engineer for the SH-60B helicopter ensuring its transition to a PBL type contract driving down program repair costs through performance incentives.

¨         Led Lean efforts at two separate repair depots to streamline piece parts support, expedite repair processes, meet shipping deadlines, and create appropriate metrics. Estimated cost avoidance at each site in excess of $250,000.

¨         Verified and validated demand and repair projections to maintain proper ready for installation (RFI) stock levels to prevent unnecessary costly repairs.

¨         Wrote obsolescence management plan for 15 suppliers to manage repairs, back orders, and long lead items. Planning drove down back orders by 26% allowing higher company profit margins and better performance of customer aircraft.

¨         Actively managed five logistics budget lines of over $2.5 million achieving record levels of efficiency.

Field Engineering Representative (2000-2003)

Lead Field Engineer at Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation conducting flight test reviews, regression analysis, and cockpit configuration control of glass cockpit installations.

¨         Primary interface with government and factory test pilots before and after flight tests to ensure avionics complaints were addressed immediately on site.

¨         Verified proper avionics test procedures were being used on new production aircraft during factory installation and integration. Maintained software configuration control.

¨         Directed cockpit avionics asset installations to keep manufacturing flow on schedule for monthly client contract payments.

¨         Created innovative asset tracking procedures and monthly status metrics to ensure continuous improvement of cockpit installations to prevent failures and schedule delays.

¨         Managed cockpit asset allocations to prevent sub-optimization and lowered cannibalization rates. Reduced factory troubleshooting cannibalization rate from 20% to 2% in under two years.
